BYLAWS

ADMINISTRATION

3.1

The Local shall elect LOCAL OFFICERS as provided in Article 8.9 of the NABET-CWA By-Laws.

3.2

ELIGIBILITY for ELECTED LOCAL OFFICERS

(a) To be a candidate for LOCAL PRESIDENT, VICE PRESIDENT, SECRETARY, TREASURER, or SECRETARY-TREASURER. a member must be and must have been a member-in-good-standing of NABET-CWA Local 43 continuously for TWO (2) years immediately prior to receiving a nomination.

(b) To be a candidate for LOCAL EXECUTIVE BOARD Member, a member must be and must have been a member-in-good-standing of NABET-CWA Local 43 continuously for ONE (1) year immediately prior to the start of nominations, except for new units entering the Local, as defined in Article 4.1 (b) of these By-Laws.

3.3

The duties and powers of the ELECTED LOCAL OFFICERS shall be as outlined in Article 8.11 of the NABET-CWA By-Laws in addition to those listed in these By-Laws.

3.4

The LOCAL VICE PRESIDENT shall act as Ex-Officio Chairman of all standing committees of the Local and shall coordinate their activities.

3.5

The LOCAL TREASURER or SECRETARY-TREASURER

(a) The LOCAL TREASURER or LOCAL SECRETARY-TREASURER shall have the books of the Local audited annually during the month of October in a manner directed by the LOCAL PRESIDENT as provided in Article 8.12 of the NABET-CWA By-Laws.

(b) The LOCAL TREASURER or LOCAL SECRETARY-TREASURER shall be bonded for an amount equal to TEN PERCENT (10%) of the amount the Local handles during the year, to include the Net Worth of Local at the beginning of the year, plus all anticipated income. The bond shall be paid out of Local funds.

3.6

Any member who is an active member of a rival labor organization will not be eligible to hold office. (U. S. Dept. of Labor 452.44).

3.7.No member shall hold more than one office in the Local Union any one time, except as specified in Article 8.17 of the NABET-CWA By-Laws.

3.8

TRAINEES may not become Local Officers. (U. S. Dept. of Labor 452.41 (d).)

3.9

The NABET-CWA Dues and local dues of the LOCAL PRESIDENT, LOCAL VICE-PRESIDENT, LOCAL SECRETARY, LOCAL TREASURER or LOCAL SECRETARY-TREASURER shall be borne by the Local. In addition, the following compensation shall also be borne by the Local:

LOCAL PRESIDENT............................$50.00 per month. LOCAL VICE

PRESIDENT....................$50.00 per month. LOCAL

SECRETARY...........................$50.00 per month. LOCAL

TREASURER...........................$50.00 per month. or

LOCAL SECRETARY-TREASURER...$75. 00 per month.

3.10

A Local Officer may be removed from office as per Article 8.16 of the NABET-CWA By- Laws.
